About the Yumcha Mama

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I’m Mei-Ling, an Aussie mum (and voice-over actress) living in Singapore with my wonderful husband and our precious 8-year-old daughter. While my husband is Singaporean, I still consider myself very much an Aussie at heart, balancing the unique blend of expat life with a local twist.

Becoming a first-time mum later in life has been the greatest joy, though not without its challenges. Through this blog, I hope to share some helpful insights to make life a little smoother for other mums, and perhaps even help you avoid a few missteps I made along the way.

Follow along as I document our homeschooling journey, share updates on Miss 8’s Suzuki violin progress, and review playgroups and classes she’s involved in. You’ll also find me talking about my experience with Classical Stretch and my ongoing love for belly dancing! Of course, I’ll be sprinkling in home décor ideas, discussing how to create a cosy, welcoming sanctuary.

As this is a personal blog, expect a bit of everything—from parenting tips to my musings on whatever catches my fancy. Blogging gives me a fun, creative outlet, and I hope it brings a little joy and inspiration to you too.
