Before the Sydney lockdown, my Little Miss Five and I had a delightful routine filled with exciting activities and visits to our favourite cafes. We cherished places like Dymocks on George Street, indulging in our weekly dose of Russian dumplings. And, of course, our local café, where my little one delighted in her cheese and avocado toast paired with a refreshing mango smoothie. Alas, the lockdown has forced us to bid farewell to these cherished moments. Now, my days revolve around concocting interesting meals thrice a day, along with morning and afternoon tea.
Just as I was reconciling with the idea of being chained to the kitchen sink (albeit an exaggeration, but only slightly!), I stumbled upon a new company called Go! Kidz. They offer a range of super healthy, convenient, and environmentally friendly ready-made meals for children, delivered right to your doorstep — for free*. What's more, both the company and the meals are 100% Australian owned and made.
The Go! Kidz website instantly captivated me with its inviting and easy-to-navigate interface, making purchasing a breeze. The "Packs" section caught my attention, offering an array of meal selections such as the Lunchbox Pack, New Flavours Pack, Vegetarian Pack, Party Pack, and Picky Eaters Pack. Intrigued, I decided to try their Favourites Pack, featuring mouthwatering delights like Coconut Chicken Curry, Roast Pumpkin Ravioli with Tomato Sugo & Mozzarella (ooh la la!), Chicken & Veggie Nasi Goreng, and Roast Chicken & Veggie Pie. How could one resist such temptations?
I placed my order over the weekend, and lo and behold, it arrived on Monday afternoon — ten frozen meals neatly packaged, surprisingly taking up minimal space in our compact freezer. What caught my attention was the exquisite packaging, made entirely from 100% compostable, recyclable, and biodegradable materials. As someone conscious of excessive packaging, Go! Kidz's commitment to the environment was a major plus for me and my family.
The first meal my little one insisted on trying was the Meatballs & Pasta. Despite being frozen, its delightful aroma wafted through the air. We were in for a treat. Heating it in the oven took a mere 15 minutes, although it would be even quicker with a microwave (which I don't use). The portion was quite generous for my little girl, so I served her two-thirds, which turned out to be perfect. The verdict? She gave me an enthusiastic thumbs up! Hooray!
For today's lunch, I eagerly opted for another Go! Kidz meal — chicken nuggets. Now, I must confess, I'm not typically a fan of chicken nuggets, but by golly, these were the most delectable nuggets I've ever had! They were so delicious that my little one awarded them a double thumbs up accompanied by an enormous grin. The nuggets come in a generously sized, resealable bag, ensuring they will last for several of my daughter's meals.
You bet! Now, let me clarify — I don't plan on relying solely on pre-packaged meals every day. However, having the option and convenience of Go! Kidz's wholesome offerings is a true godsend. Since I don't have household help, my family depends on me to cook every meal. So, during times when I'm not feeling my best, fatigued, or simply want to offer my daughter a little variety during this Sydney lockdown, I can now provide her with a nourishing, clean, and delicious meal without any feelings of guilt whatsoever.
I appreciate that Go! Kidz offers a fuss-free experience, and despite being a young company, they boast an impressive variety of meals. The affordability is also worth noting, and as I mentioned earlier, delivery is free*. I'm already eyeing my next purchase — the New Flavours Pack. As a multicultural family, exposing my daughter to diverse culinary experiences is important to me. I'll also order the chicken nuggets separately — they might just become my new (healthy) addiction!

Exciting news! Go! Kidz informed me that their vegetarian range is available in Singapore through Little Farms! WOWEE! I hope they can expand their range to cover all meals soon.
Oh, and did I mention they offer adult sizes too? How fantastic! I tried a few, but I found they were a tad too large for me. Now, I simply heat up a child-sized meal on nights when I'm not particularly hungry.
In summary, Go! Kidz has been a game-changer in our household. It offers a convenient solution during these challenging times, providing nourishment, variety, and guilt-free indulgence. With its hassle-free experience, wide selection, affordability, and commitment to the environment, Go! Kidz has earned its place as a beloved addition to our culinary repertoire.
