Hello, lovely readers! Welcome to the fresh, revamped The Yumcha Mama! Instead of a simple update, I’ve decided to completely transform my blog. It needed a bit more than just a quick fix, and I’m so pleased with how it’s shaping up. I hope you’ll enjoy the refreshed look as I gradually reorganise and republish my older posts. Do bear with me as I take my time getting everything back in order—it’s a slow and steady process, but I promise it will be worth it (for me at least!).
For those who have been following my journey, you’ll know that I’ve been homeschooling for over two years now. We began our homeschooling adventure back in Sydney when Miss 8 was just five years old, and what an adventure it has been! I opted for Wolsey Hall Oxford as our main curriculum provider, and it has been nothing short of wonderful. The structure, the content, and the flexibility—it all just works for us. Miss 8 and I couldn’t be happier with the path we’ve chosen.
As the homeschooling journey has consumed a good portion of my days, I’ve decided to focus more on this topic in the blog from hereon. But fear not, I’ll still be chatting away about anything else that sparks my interest! Whether it’s family life, parenting tips, or just a bit of light-hearted rambling, there will be plenty to look forward to.
In addition to our homeschooling adventures, we’ve recently moved into a new home, which has been quite the project. The entire place needed a serious overhaul, and what a transformation it has been! I can’t wait to share some before-and-after photos with you all soon. We now have a dedicated homeschool room, which has made a world of difference. It feels so rewarding to finally settle into a space that truly works for us as a family.
Another exciting aspect of our homeschooling journey has been our use of Outschool, which I’ll be reviewing soon. Miss 8 has been busy with all sorts of fascinating classes. From delving into Shakespeare’s world to learning about Queen Victoria’s reign, and even taking art classes, Outschool has offered a brilliant variety of classes. She’s even done a course on the art of keeping tidy—quite handy, I must say! These classes have been a fantastic way to add some extra enrichment to her education.
As always, this blog remains a true labour of love. So, thank you for your patience as I slowly migrate all the content over. Once that’s done, I’ll have a bit more time to sit down and properly write the new posts that have been swirling in my head. There’s so much to share, and I can’t wait to get back into the swing of things.
Until next time, happy reading and thank you for being part of The Yumcha Mama community!
